Tasty Tidbit

Try this delightful recipe anywhere you want to cut down on sugar but add flavour!  Cinnamon helps balance blood sugar, cloves are an excellent antibacterial, ginger is good for the tummy and all of the spices have some phytoestrogenic and phytonutrient effects.  Add to apples, sprinkle on a bit of granola and bake.  MMMM!

Apple Spice and Everything Nice

4 tsp coriander seed
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp cardamon seeds

Dry roast the coriander and cardamon seed.  When cool grind in a coffee grinder. Mix all ingredients and store in glass jars in cool, dry place.  Use whenever you need comfort food.
